It has been our tradition to organize bhajans & blood donation drive during Thaipusam festival for more than 20 years in Batu Caves. This activity has survived many obstacles and challenges in Batu Caves and currently standing tall as one of a land mark during Batu Caves Thaipusam as " Blood donation - Sai Baba - under the bridge". 

Many (public) donors come prepared with their blood donor's book and fulfil their pledge to Lord Muruga. As one of the donor said, " I have wowed to Lord Muruga during last year Thaipusam, I will come and donate blood". This guy came all the way from Kuala Selangor, just to full fill his wow and donated blood. I remember this from previous year blood donation drive in Batu Caves. I am very sure the same situation takes place in every other locality during Thaipusam.

Sai centres devotees and organizing teams from Ipoh, Penang , JB , Melaka, Negri Sembilan and Selangor have been a key instrument in organizing the blood donation drive during Thaipusam in the past in respective locality.

I am writing this email just as a reminder, that the next Thaipusam is on 30th January 2010 (Saturday), ans since it is Saturday, surge of crowd can be expected during the event. We have less than 2 months to prepare and plan. Back in Selangor / KL, the organizing team is already started their meetings and preparation work is progress.

Please do contact the centres in your state and get this noble project on the move, as it is also part of our gift for Swami for his 85th birthday.
